At Metro Secure24, we like to respond quickly to requests for help. One of our most pressing calls often comes from Social Workers who have to put together a ‘Care Package’ for an elderly person who is being discharged from the hospital at short notice and will require regular daily visits from care staff.

Giving someone access to your front door key is a big deal, so our customers’ peace of mind is essential. There are many Key Safes on the market that you can buy for very little money. Still, they are unsuitable for this application as they can be easily opened and have numbers on a barrel-type combination, making the elderly person behind that front door vulnerable.

That’s why when Sandra P. from Doncaster Council’s Social Services department recently called us to fit a Key Safe for an elderly woman in Conisbrough, we fitted a Burton Keyguard XL key safe. These are approved by the LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) & Secure by Design, which is the official police security initiative that the UK Police Service owns with the specific aim of reducing crime and helping people live more safely. They have a combination of luminous highlighted push
button numbers and letters so they can be read in low light conditions.
